Vacuuming - Types and Tips

Most people are very familiar with their vacuum type. You need to clean the house, and that's one of the major tools that you are going to use. It's unavoidable.

Recently, technology has meant that we have new options. The old mode of dragging a vacuum around the house behind you is obsolete now. There's a more efficient way to go about cleaning the house, and it has more suction power also. This new way is called a central vacuum cleaner, and more and more homeowners are investing in this cleaning tool.

This is a big improvement. When you use a portable vacuum, you are bringing a receptacle full of dirt and dust through your house. The central vacuum, on the other hand, doesn't move to the dirt. The dirt and dust is sucked into the unit. That way, you aren't possibly trailing dirt and dust around as you move through your house with a vacuum.

There are even central vacuum units that have HEPA filters. A HEPA filter is so fine that it will trap the smallest of dust particles. This is a major improvement. There's another benefit to the central unit, in that the unit can vent dust and dirt to the exterior of the home. This means the unit collects the dirt and dust, and then disposes of it as well as part of its function. No need to change or empty bags!

You can also get a cyclonic system. This is what it sounds like - a system that uses a cyclone-like rotation of air inside the machine to push dirt and dust into the bag.

This is a good system but still not as efficient as a HEPA filter. You can still have a small percentage of dirt and dust escaping. A central vacuum system can use a secondary filter to then remove any residual dust not caught by the first vacuum.

If you need to know the key differences between portable vacuums and a central unit, that is simple. There are two. First, the central unit has far more suction power. Secondly, the central unit is a lot more convenient because you aren't lugging it around with you.

For households where someone is allergic to dust, a central vacuum can be very handy and time-saving. If you think of how often you need to vacuum to stay on top of the dust build up and then think of how nice it would be to have a unit do this automatically, it becomes obvious that maybe you might want to consider a central unit.
